Study in Naples

Naples is home to the University of Naples Federico II — founded in 1224 by Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, and one of the oldest state-funded universities in the world — alongside two other public universities: L'Orientale, specialising in languages, and Parthenope, focused on economics, engineering, and maritime studies. It's a large, dense, unmistakably Southern Italian city, with a bay-front setting, Mount Vesuvius on the skyline, and one of the country's richest food cultures.

Naples is also generally one of the more affordable major Italian cities to live in, which matters for students weighing cost alongside everything else.

It's a big, layered, sometimes chaotic city, and settling in here rewards a bit more street-smarts than a smaller university town — but it also means a genuinely large student population, a lower cost of living than the north, and a setting (the bay, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast within day-trip reach) that's hard to match anywhere else in Italy.
